So tune in the opening verse of one of the most popular Halloween songs - "The Addams Family Theme," and get ready to throw a spooktacular party this Halloween.
Now, you must be wondering how to break the motions of the same old Halloween traditions and immortalize this Halloween? Well, wonder no more!
Get ready to step into another world with our Lost Mummy Play-At-Home Escape Room Kit. With this game, you and your friends will be transported back in time to Ancient Egypt, where you'll have to solve a series of puzzles and riddles in order to find the lost mummy of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.
But before we go any further, make sure to have a Jack o' Lantern with you and a broom to scare off the witches!
Before releasing those wild crows to carry your spooky party invitations, make sure that your copy of The Lost Mummy Play-At-Home Escape Room Kit has safely landed in your lair. If it hasn't, don't fret; just click here, and our high wizards will have it teleported right away. Make sure you throw some salt over your shoulders before opening it. You wouldn't want to jinx it with dark forces out there, now, would you?
Now that you have your kit, it's time to start setting up the scene. If you want to get fully immersed in the experience and become an honorary member of Team Lost Mummy, you'll want to go all out on the decorations. But even if you're not that into decorating, we still think it's important to set the scene. After all, what's a Halloween party without some spooky decorations?
You don't need to go overboard. A few fake spiders, ketchup or tomato sauce stains, small candles… that should do the trick. And if you want to add a more Egyptian flavor to your home, we've got a few tips for you:
First, turn down the lights and light some candles. This will create a spooky ambiance that will make your guests feel like they're in another world.
Second, play some Egyptian music in the background. You can find some great tracks on Spotify or YouTube.
Third, if you have any old pictures lying around, now's the time to bring them out.
Lastly, you can also change the pictures of your frames with disturbing ones: could it be bloodstains (of ketchup, hehe) on the picture? What is that shadow behind the grandfather? Why is this picture torn? We already have goosebumps…
Now that your home looks like something out of an Indiana Jones movie, it's time to get your guests involved.
The first step is to send out invitations. You can either go the traditional route and hand-deliver them or be a little more creative and send them by email or social media.
If you want to go the extra mile, you can even make them devilish by using black, orange, or purple colors, or maybe sneaking in scary spiders in a few. Let your guests know that they are going to have the time of their lives at your party!
Of course, you can't have a Halloween party without costumes. But what should you wear?
If you want to keep it simple, you can go as an Egyptian pharaoh or queen. Or, if you're feeling a little more adventurous, you could dress up as one of the many gods and goddesses of Ancient Egypt.
Anubis, the god of death? Isis, the goddess of love and magic? Or maybe you could even be Ra, the sun god! The possibilities are endless.
Just make sure you don't forget the most important part of your costume: the makeup!
Now that you're all set with the decorations and invitations, the next course of action is to plan the food and drinks.
If you want to stay on theme, we suggest making some Egyptian-themed dishes.
Some examples of traditional Egyptian dishes are koshary, a dish made of rice, pasta, and lentils; ful medames, which is made of fava beans; and tamarindo, a delicious drink made of tamarind juice and sugar.
For the drinks, you can either make some traditional Egyptian tea or coffee or get creative and make some spooky cocktails.
If you want to go the cocktail route, we suggest making some "Blood of Isis" cocktails.
These cocktails are made with grenadine, mint, and vodka (for the adults) or sparkling water (for the kids).
To make them, simply fill a glass with ice cubes, add a shot of vodka (or sparkling water), and then top it off with grenadine and mint.
And there you have it!
The Lost Mummy Escape Room Kit is equipped with adventuring gear that'll turn your living room into an escape room quicker than you can say "Tutankhamun." It comes with a printable photo booth prop pack to make your Halloween party one for the (spooky) books. Supercharge the atmosphere and get ready for some unforgettable memories!
It's all the fun of an adult escape room but crafted to engage kids with puzzles they can engage with and a storyline that will ignite their imagination.
